Antique style engagement rings are popular with many brides these days. One reason for this is because they are often sentimental in nature. Sometimes antique and vintage rings are passed down from generation to generation. These rings can be in a family for many years and are an honor to receive, wear and eventually pass down. Many people choose a ring from the Victorian era. During this time women wore romantic jewelry styles featuring lots of detail and embellishment. Another hot style when it comes to antique rings is Edwardian. Edwardian engagement rings are often ornately designed and adorned with sparkling diamonds and other gemstones like sapphires. The Art Deco period is another popular time period for jewelry with engagement rings of this era featuring sparkling platinum and large diamonds. The emerald cut white diamond set in platinum flanked with additional diamonds is a commonly seen style of the Art Deco period.
When shopping for antique style engagement rings you have two choices. You can get an actual antique ring or you can get a new ring that looks like it is antique. The latter will most likely be the most affordable way to go. The rarity of a ring certainly factors into its price, which is why many antique rings are quite costly. Choosing a new ring with an antique style gives you the best of both worlds. You get the benefit of modern jewelry making technology with beautiful antique styling.
